(11/28/11): Previous Final Exams are posted HERE. Find two hours to practice each exam to get a feel for what you need to know. The final will be held Monday Dec. 12 at 3:00-5:00pm. You must attend the final at this time. No exceptions or do-overs. You are responsible for arranging with your employer to attend your final, so do so sooner than later. Any student receiving less than a 60% on the final will receive no higher than a “D” in the entire course, so it is imperative that you study and do well on the final.

(11/14/11): Chapter 7 exam is Monday Nov 21st. Practice exam is HERE

(11/14/11): Group project assignment is up HERE. The first due date for the assignment is Nov 23rd, so plan ahead and form your groups of 3-4 people soon!

(11/1/11): Take-home exam is HERE . Its due next Monday, Nov. 7th.

Announcement (10/28/11): The instructor will be out of town on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday Nov. 2-3. The Thursday 7:30 morning class is cancelled and the Wednesday 3:30 afternoon class is cancelled. In place of an in-class meeting, I will be posting a take-home exam over Chapter 6 on this webpage on Wednesday. You will receive an email reminding you of this. The take-home exam will be due the following Monday Nov. 7. To get credit for each problem, you must show your own work and reasoning. Correct answers alone will get very few of the possible points. Because it is a take-home, it will be slightly harder than the last exam, so please, be prepared and be extra careful!

We will have an exam over Chapter 5 on Wednesday, October 19th Monday, October 24. The practice exam is HERE and has been re-saved with typos (mistakes) fixed (sorry about that). Note that the real exam will have extra space for you to show your work.

Exam and grading policy: Midterm exams and quizzes are worth 55% of your grade. The final exam is worth 30%, and homework is worth 15%. During the semester, you may drop one midtern exam from your grade for whatever reason. You are required to do the final, however.

Homework policy: Homework is worth 15% of your total grade. Homework assigned for the week will be due at the end of the week. For the morning class, that means homework  is due on Thursday, consisting of homeworks assigned from the previous Thursday through Wednesday. For the afternoon class, homework is due Wednesday at the end of class, consisting of sections assigned from the previous Wednesday and Monday.

  2. If there were no marks, its probably that you did not do the assigned problems that I happened to randomly grade, but I can’t remember for sure. Come to class and we can see about it. Best. Will.

The time for the final has been on your syllabus since the beginning of the course. You are responsible for being there and making arrangements with your employer. No exceptions.
